Yoga: (yō’-gə) A Hindu discipline aimed at training the consciousness for a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquility; one of the branches of Ayurvedic treatment and philosophy; a system of exercises practiced as part of this discipline to promote control of the body and mind.
Your treatment begins with an initial consultation. Here your health concerns are discussed in relation to the balance of Vata (air), Pitta (fire), and Kapha (water) elements in your body. Your Ayurvedic pulses are taken to allow the practitioner to suggest gentle, natural ways to achieve balance. You will receive a detailed report showing how the elements in your body can be balanced to promote better health. Specific suggestions on diet/nutrition are a key part of the report. In addition, you will receive suggestions on herbs and supplements, aromatherapy, gem and color therapy, yoga, meditation, and more. Your practitioner can suggest further Ayurvedic treatments to assist you on your path to better health. These may include Ayurvedic Abhyanga massage and an Ayurvedic Cleanse for detoxification and rejuvenation.
